Edward began his career as a solicitor advocate in the Magistrates’ and County Court of Victoria, with a primary focus on criminal and commercial litigation. He has a particular interest in white-collar crime and regulatory disputes.

Formerly a Judge’s Associate in the Supreme Court of Victoria, Edward assisted in a diverse range of trials, applications, and appeals, and drafted various sentences, judgements, and orders. His passion for criminal law is rooted in this experience, where he learned from some of Victoria’s finest lawyers and advocates.

Since beginning practice at Doogue + George, Edward has appeared in Victorian, New South Wales, and Commonwealth jurisdictions, in a broad range of criminal, quasi-criminal, and administrative law matters.

As well as appearing in Court, Edward also regularly assists clients when their professional registrations are impacted by criminal proceedings, including Working With Children Checks (WWCC), and Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.

Edward completed his studies at Monash University, obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, majoring in politics and philosophy, and a Bachelor Degree in Law (Honours). While at University, Edward volunteered at a community legal centre where he had the opportunity to assist disadvantaged clients with a broad range of complex legal disputes.

Recognising that facing the criminal justice system can be an intimidating and overwhelming experience for many individuals, Edward aims to support clients in navigating this process by providing helpful, practical, and straightforward advice, as well as exceptional advocacy.

Edward is based at our Melbourne and Broadmeadows offices.
