Alexander Shirrefs

Alexander is an Associate at Doogue + George. He was admitted to legal practice in 2020 and appears regularly in the Magistrates’ and County Courts of Victoria.
Alexander ShirrefsAlex practices primarily in summary and indictable crime and has experience in a range of areas that include but are not limited to drug, sex and traffic offences. He appears regularly as a solicitor advocate in the Magistrates’ Courts and County Courts of Victoria in both regional and metropolitan areas. Alex often appears as instructing solicitor in County Court proceedings, and has experience in prosecutions brought by Victoria Police, Officer of Public Prosecutions, and The Transport Accident Commission.

Before his admission to legal practice in 2020, Alex worked as a paralegal at several criminal law firms around Melbourne, gaining a valuable understanding of criminal procedure and practice. He completed a Bachelor of Laws with Victoria University and further completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice with the College of Law. He also has a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University majoring in Archaeology and Classics.
