Steroids Possession
In Victoria, possessing steroids can result in being charged with ‘possession of a drug of dependence’ under s 73 of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act 1981.
This charge has a maximum penalty of a $4,757.10 fine or 1 year imprisonment or both if the court is satisfied on the balance of probabilities that the steroids possession offence was not committed for any purpose relating to trafficking.
If the court is satisfied on the balance of probabilities that the steroids possession offence was committed for a purpose relating to trafficking, the maximum penalty increases to a $63,428 fine or 5 years imprisonment or both.

This charge has a maximum penalty of a $4,757.10 fine or 1 year imprisonment or both.
