Plea of Guilty

Are you pleading guilty?

If you are not guilty of the charges the decision is simple. Press the “No” button.

Do not plead guilty to all your charges without getting legal advice.

The police often charge you with a number of alternative charges – knowing it will be just one that is actually pleaded to. For example, if you are said to have punched someone, you will likely be facing a charge of intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury and unlawful assault. These carry different penalties and differ in seriousness. You are not guilty of all three at once.

We need to discuss with you the appropriate charges that you should be pleading guilty to.

If you have been over-charged then please press the “No” button.

If there is no question that you are guilty of all the charges (and don’t dispute the police version of what happened) then press “Yes”.
