Withdrawing Theft Charges

TheftThis is a case that involves successfully withdrawing Theft charges.

Our client was a woman who worked for a government department. She was accused of stealing money from a resident’s account amounting to around $900. The alleged theft occurred in 2012 and her employment with this department had since been terminated.

We represented the client at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court.

The case resulted in a withdrawal of the charges. We were able to persuade the prosecution that there was too much uncertainty given the passage of time. Hypotheses consistent with our client’s innocence were also put forward.
