Trafficking and Possessing Methylamphetamine and Proceeds of Crime – Wholly Suspended Sentence

Client was charged with trafficking 70g of methyl amphetamine (more than 20 times the traffickable quantity) and proceeds of crime.

The client was found in possession of the drugs in his motor vehicle and then upon search of his residence, further drugs and paraphernalia were found.

Client wished to plead not guilty. He was advised to plead guilty given the overwhelming case against him.

We represented the client at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court.

After pleading guilty to charges of trafficking and possessing the proceeds of crime, his Honour sentenced the client to a six-month term of imprisonment, wholly suspended for 2 years.

This represents an excellent result in the circumstances.
