Pervert the Course of Public Justice, Make False Report – Good Behaviour Bond

Our client’s son was in a police pursuit and ran away from the scene. She assisted him to report his car as stolen in order for him to avoid facing charges and going to Court. The Police discovered the lie and charged her with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

We represented the client at the Melbourne County Court for the charges of:

  • Perverting the Course of Justice
  • Make False Report

Our client was placed on a good behaviour bond, despite the fact that she pleaded guilty to such a serious offence where the maximum penalty is 25 years imprisonment. We were able to persuade the Court that the offence was extremely out of character and that her motivations were good, albeit misguided.
