Multiple Drug and Other Charges – CCO
Our client was arrested in his car and was charged with multiple charges including trafficking ice with the quantity in his car being 30 grams. He had no prior offences.
Specifically, the charges were:
- Dealing With Property Suspected of Being Proceeds of Crime
- Possess Prohibited Weapon
- Possess Drug of Dependence
- Drive While Suspended By Infringements
We represented the client at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court.
Our client ultimately received a Community Corrections Order and did not go to prison. He was also suspended from driving for a period of 28 days.
He was initially looking at a jail sentence for the offending despite having no priors. We instructed him to seek drug and psychological counselling and we had a psychological assessment undertaken. We were able to put to the court substantial plea material to support our submission for him to be put on a CCO. After reviewing the material, the Magistrate agreed with our submission.
