Multiple Drug and Other Charges – CCO

What is alleged to have occured?
Our client was arrested in his car and was charged with multiple charges including trafficking ice with the quantity in his car being 30 grams. He had no prior offences.

What happened at court?
We represented the client at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court.

He was initially looking at a jail sentence for the offending despite having no priors. We instructed him to seek drug and psychological counselling and we had a psychological assessment undertaken. We were able to put to the court substantial plea material to support our submission for him to be put on a CCO. After reviewing the material, the Magistrate agreed with our submission.

What was the result?
Our client ultimately received a Community Corrections Order and did not go to prison. He was also suspended from driving for a period of 28 days.
