Intentionally Cause Injury – Good Behaviour Bond
The client was involved in a lengthy drinking session with family and friends. A relative started a fight with security and the client’s brother got involved as a result of the initial scuffle. The client then became involved and was alleged to have assaulted security and police officers. She was charged with Intentionally Cause Injury.
We represented the client at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.
Had our client received a conviction, it was very likely that she would have lost her accreditation to work in the health industry.
Through successful negotiations, we were able to remove the most serious charges. We obtained a number of character references and certificates from our client highlighting how out of character the charge was and what the impact of a conviction would be. This ensured that she receives the lowest penalty for the offending and also allowed her to work in her chosen field in the future. The client received a Good Behaviour Bond.
