Sexual Penetration, Rape, Indecent Assault

The accused was charged in relation to sexual penetration, rape and indecent assault in relation to two separate step-daughters from two different relationships. The allegation was that he had bribed them with promises of buying things for them.

Bill Doogue represented our client at the Melbourne County Court.

There was a successful application to separate the trials so that the evidence of one alleged victim was not heard at the trial of the other alleged victim.

In relation to one alleged victim there was a complete acquittal. In relation to the victim with the lesser charges of indecent assault he was found guilty. He was placed on a community based order and a suspended sentence.
