CCO for Assault Charges
Our client was facing 23 charges including serious offences such as Making Threats to Kill, Intentionally Causing Injury, and Unlawful Assault. The offences were quite serious and were allegedly committed against four different people including a bride at a wedding and the bride’s elderly mother. Amongst other things, the client had allegedly punched the DJ at a wedding five times, pushed the bride over causing the bride’s head to hit the pavement, punched the bride’s mother, and made threats to kill against a wedding guest.
Overall, the charges were:
- Intentionally Cause Injury
- Recklessly Cause Injury
- Unlawful Assault
- Threats to Kill
- Threats to Inflict Serious Injury
We represented the client at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court.
A sentence indication was sought and submissions were made about the client’s circumstances. Following these, his Honour sentenced our client to a Community Corrections Order with 50 hours of unpaid community work.
