Criminal Penalties - Combined Custody and Treatment Order

BlackMenuBar.jpg, 340B

A combined custody and treatment order is an order that you serve 6 months in gaol followed by 6 months treatment in the community.

They are fairly rarely imposed these days as there is little discretion if you breach the order. On a breach you have to be sentenced to 6 months imprisonment. Most Judges and Magistrates prefer to impose imprisonment with a non-parole period as they consider that to be a more flexible and effective order.

To ensure that you receive the lowest possible penalty, contact Doogue & O'Brien on 03 9670 5111.
