Criminal Penalties - Community Based Order
A Community Based Order can be imposed either with or without conviction. A community based order is generally known as a CBO.
If you are placed on a CBO it is generally with conditions. Those conditions can range from attending for assessment and treatment for drugs or alcohol to undergoing psychological treatment. The Magistrate or Judge decides what they think is important for you to do so that you stop offending.
Normally they include a condition that you undertake unpaid community work at a place dictated by the Correctional Service.
To ensure that you receive the lowest possible penalty, contact Doogue & O'Brien on 03 9670 5111.
