Facts of the Case - Possession of cannabis, large quantity for personal use


Client was found in possession of 783g of cannabis. He was initially charged with trafficking due to the large amount that was located. After negotiations with the presecution, the charge of trafficking was withdrawn, and a plea was entered in relation to the possession.  The client had a prior conviction for trafficking cannabis.

Results Achieved


With this charge, due to the amount that was located, the Court still need to be satisfied that the possession was not for the purpose of trafficking. This was done successfully, and the Magistrate placed the client on a 6 month Community Based Order.
