Facts of the Case - Indecent Assault
Client a taxi driver. Allegedly committed an indecent assault. Client denied allegations. Case did not resolve at contest mention. A conviction or finding of guilt would have resulted in client losing his registration, and the collapse of a business he had been operating successfully for 15 years.
Results Achieved
Shaun demonstrated through calling character evidence on behalf of his client and drawing the court’s attention to various inconsistencies in the prosecution case, that the Magistrate could not be satisfied beyond reasonable doubt as to his client’s guilt. He secured an acquittal for his client. Further, Shaun successfully argued that the prosecution pay his client’s costs in the sum of $4080.
