Prosecution summary for Case Conference
Prosecution summary for Case Conference
A Prosecution case conference summary is served on the accused.
This document will outline the Prosecution case (often in a less detailed way than the final Prosecution Opening). A case conference summary will outline the factual basis on which the Crown intend to proceed.
The case conference summary will indicate what charges are intending to be proceeded with by the Prosecution. There is a push in the Courts to try to make prosecution and defence get to grips with the real issues in a case as early as possible.
The case conference process is part of this process of trying to make people work through the issues that arrise in a case conference summary earlier rather than at the door of the Court as a trial is about to begin.
