Final directions Hearing
Final directions Hearing
The final directions hearing in the County Court or Supreme Court is generally heard about a month before the trial. The aim of the final directions is for the County Court or Supreme Court Judge to make sure that the Crown Opening and the Defence response have been filed and there is nothing that will stand in the way of the trial going ahead.
At final directions hearings Judges generally check whether funding is in place for the case and whether there are any evidentiary issues that are going to change the amount of time the trial is meant to take.
At the Final Directions hearing the Judge will also check if either side know of any other problems that the witnesses are available
