Accused Commited To Stand Trial

BlackMenuBar.jpg, 340B
Being committed "to stand trial" is the term given to the process after a committal where an accused is fighting the allegations against them. As opposed to being committed for a plea of guilty.

The matter is then sent to the Court that has the jurisdiction and will be hearing the matter. Almost always sexual offending charges are heard in the County Court. On very rare occasions sex charges are heard in the Supreme Court.
